So. A crazy thing happened the other day.
I sent a sample of my writing to an agent.
And she actually responded.
And she actually liked it.
This is crazy for 2 major reasons:
I never share my writing with people I don’t know. Well, besides on my blog, but that doesn’t count. Right?
You cannot convince me that I am a good writer. Which, I know, is crazy since I’m trying to be a writer and all.
Anyhow, back to the other day. She responded. She liked my 5-page sample. She asked for more — the full manuscript, in fact. Which is like gold for a writer. Unless you are a writer that does not actually have a full manuscript, and sent a query letter assuming the agent would hate your work…
Yeah, that writer is me.
AN AGENT WANTS TO READ MY MANUSCRIPT!!! *cue celebration*
But, I don’t actually have a manuscript. *cue that noise they play on Wheel of Fortune when your Plinko chip drops to zero*
Luckily, I have a plan.
The Plan:
I will write a manuscript! And though the aforementioned agent may never read said novel when I finally finish, to punish me for my lack of preparation (which I deserve), I will have a novel at the end of it all. Something I have been meaning to conquer for quite some time. So, in the spirit of NaNoWriMo, which I missed by a couple weeks, I will endeavor to complete a full-length novel (rough draft) in 30 days.
Wanna join me for the journey?
